A quote your customer can understand.

This 3D printing quotation template includes business and customer details, a quote reference, material and color, quantities, unit prices, and a total. There is room to state what the job includes, when it can be ready, and how long the price is valid.

The spreadsheet calculates line totals and adds your shipping and tax amounts. You enter the selling price for each item. To work out that price from your costs first, use the free 3D printing cost calculator.

A completed 3D printing quote example.

A customer has requested two custom camera mounts in black PETG. Each mount is quoted at $11.22, with $4 shipping for the whole order. The example includes standard support removal and fitting two inserts per mount.

ItemQuantityUnit priceTotal
Custom camera mount
PETG · Black
2$11.22$22.44
Shipping for the order$4.00
Tax entered for this example$0.00
Quote total$26.44

Fictional example in USD. The unit price includes the stated finishing and inserts. Shipping is added once for the order. Replace the example tax amount with the amount that applies to your quote.

State the scope alongside the price: “Two mounts made from the supplied file, in black PETG. Support removal and two inserts per mount included. Design changes are quoted separately. Dispatch within five working days of approval and payment. Quote valid for 14 days.” Adjust those terms to the job you are offering.

How to use the quote template.

  1. Replace the example details. Add your business, customer, quote reference, issue date, and valid-until date. Keep a separate copy for each quote.
  2. Describe the parts. State the material, color, quantity, and any finishing or assembly included. Reference the agreed file or revision where it matters.
  3. Enter your selling prices. Include the costs and margin you need in the unit price. The sheet multiplies quantity by unit price and totals the lines.
  4. Add shipping and tax amounts. These fields apply to the whole quote. Keep shipping out of the unit price if you are adding it separately.
  5. Check and share the finished quote. Review every example field and confirm the scope and dates. To make a customer PDF, print cells A1:F28 and fit the columns to one page; this leaves out the template instructions. Keep your internal cost calculation separately.

What to agree before you start printing.

A price alone can leave room for misunderstanding. Use the scope field to record the details that could change the job:

  • The file version, dimensions, material, and color agreed with the customer.
  • Support removal, sanding, inserts, or assembly included in the price.
  • Whether design work or later revisions need a separate quote.
  • Dispatch or pickup timing, shipping charges, and payment arrangements.

For a repeat batch, check today’s costs and the requested quantity before reusing an old price. A smaller batch may spread setup work across fewer units.

Quote template questions.

Is this template free?

Yes. Download it without creating an account. Edit the workbook in Excel or import the file into Google Sheets. The download is a standalone spreadsheet.

Does it calculate my print costs or profit margin?

It calculates the customer quote total from quantities, selling prices, shipping, and tax amounts. It does not work out production costs or choose your margin. Use the cost calculator first, or prepare and save the full calculation with 3DPCC’s quoting software.

Can I use it for resin prints or batches?

Yes. Describe the material and finishing, then enter the selling price for the agreed quantity. If a line represents a set, label the number of pieces in that set and use the price of the whole set as its unit price.

Is this the same as the app’s PDF export?

The Excel file is a manual template. 3DPCC PRO exports a branded PDF from a saved calculation and keeps the cost breakdown in quote history. You can view a sample PDF created by the app.

Keep your costs and previous quotes ready.

When you quote regularly, re-entering material prices and printer costs takes time. 3D printing quoting software for your business keeps those details available, saves your calculations, and exports customer PDFs. For products you sell repeatedly, review product costs and estimated profit across your sales channels.
